Program Overview

Leaders are not born – They Evolve and Emerge!

Becoming a great leader is about making a choice. It is about making the decision to learn and apply the skills that are found in all great leaders. While certain aspects of effective leadership may come easier to some, everyone is faced with challenges that require a conscious effort to make adjustment in one’s thinking and approach.

The T.O.P. Leadership Program is designed to help those who aspire to achieve a level of leadership “greatness.” Such greatness is defined as those leaders who, through their actions, are recognized as outstanding leaders – by their peers, their subordinates and their managers.

The T.O.P. Leadership Program represents an innovative progression in the field of leadership development. The Program utilizes a three-pronged focus to effectively facilitate the transformation in leadership skills of those who chose to make the decision to emerge as great leaders.

Focus One:  Leadership Self-Discovery

The T.O.P Leadership Program starts with taking a full inventory of one’s current leadership practices. Participants complete and submit three assessments relative to their personal leadership skills. Upon receipt of participant self-assessments, Silver Meridian provides participants with supplemental pre-training reading material. Participants also provide Silver Meridian with the names and email contacts of their manager, plus three workplace peers and three workplace subordinates, all of whom must agree to provide confidential feedback relative to the participant’s leadership abilities. Silver Meridian compiles this feedback to share with the participant for the development of their personal leadership action plan.

Focus Two:  Leadership Awareness

From a learning and awareness perspective, the Program successfully incorporates the best in fundamental leadership theory with new and exciting advances in leadership training and practices. Research has proven that key to leadership success is the Proactive application of Trust and Openness in work relationships. The T.O.P. Leadership Program training component merges dynamic leadership practices together with fostering trusting, open relationships –cornerstones to creating employee commitment to an organization. Based on recent findings from the field of neuroscience, eight critical leadership behaviours are shared that are proven to be directly correlated with building positive trust in workplace relationships.

Participants will leave the Leadership Awareness training days having developed a 12 week personal leadership action plan.

Focus Three:  Applied Leadership

Participants will initiate their leadership action plans upon their return to work, and for the next four (4) weeks, complete and submit progress reports to Silver Meridian. Participants will also call Silver Meridian for weekly half-hour personal consultations during this four week period. This is followed by four progress reports and personal consultations over eight weeks (approximately every two weeks). Upon completion of this Applied Leadership action plan process, on-line post leadership self-assessments will be completed by the participant, as well as assessments by their manager, peers and subordinates. The results from these reviews will be compiled and compared to the pre-program assessments, and submitted to the participant, along with a certificate of completion.

The T.O.P. Leadership Process Steps

The program involves up to 16 weeks of commitment on the part of each participant. In order to achieve the maximum benefit from this program, those with holiday or other scheduling conflicts during the Leadership Awareness and Applied Leadership periods are discouraged from entering the program.
