Feeling Challenged by.....?
- Recreation staff who are stuck in a “same old, same old” or pandemic paralysis?
- Being assigned tasks that are not really your responsibility?
- Other departments not respecting the value of you and your department?
- Funding limitations for innovative programs, and budget cuts to support other areas?
You know you and your people are doing a good job, however, with a little nudging, it doesn’t take long to detect some cracks in the positive image.
The road to a great recreation department starts with two essentials:
- The provision of excellent programs
- Leadership
The effectiveness of a Recreation department is largely influenced by leadership. The good news for most of us:
Leaders are not born great leaders
Leadership success evolves as a result of insight and applied leadership practices. The most successful leaders recognize that their growth as leaders is an ongoing, ever-evolving journey.
The focus of this online 6-hour, three-session certificate program is on developing key leadership skills required by today’s Recreation supervisors. Through training, practice and applied assignments, participants will gain skills unique to Recreation Leaders, including:
- Recognize their leadership strengths and enhance their areas of significant growth
- Inspire those who are holding them and their department back
- Reinforce and confirm their status as a respected professional in the workplace
- Assertively advocate for resources and their personal value in the care continuum
- Demonstrate how to positivity influence the reputation of the entire organization
